With funding from the Government of Australia and WIPO Asia Pacific, the objective of this project is two-fold: First, to identify specific technology needs in the area of energy, air, water and agriculture in Indonesia and Cambodia with a total of 20 needs identified ; Second, to match the identified needs with corresponding available green technologies. Energy, air, water and agriculture have been selected as focus sectors for this project.

The World Intellectual Property Office WIPO has recently launched a new initiative to encourage the development of environmentally sustainable solutions addressing climate change. The initiative is called WIPO Green and it is an online market place seeking to connect parties who have technology solutions to environmental, climate or sustainable problems with parties seeking solutions to specific problems.
The database allows parties to search for green technology products, services and intellectual property assets, as well as post announcements of needs. The network is intended to foster commercial relationships between green technology providers and seekers, by making contact information and other resources available.
At present, the WIPO GREEN database with more than 3, technologies the users’ matchmaking, and supports their information exchange.
It is a self-funding agency of the United Nations, with member states, whose mission is to lead the development of a balanced and effective international IP system that enables innovation and creativity for the benefit of all.
